look!!!! i can sew!

hi everyone, i had to make some sleeping pants for my little one, because pants are "out of season" in stores and he really needed some pants. these turned out really well, if i do say so myself. they came out a bit too long, but hey, he'll grow into them.

and this is my little man wearing his new pants. if anyone was wondering, his shirt says, HELP! Mommy's having a bad day call 1-800-GRANDMA

just an update.....

hi everyone,
just to let you all know that i finally finished the flowers and i sent them out, but i was in such a rush to get them out, that i forget to take pics od the finished ones. just imagine the flower from before with leaves on them. i also started knitting some toy balls. all this knitting is really messing up my right hand (since i'm right handed), but i need to keep moving. i'm going to the Dr. tomorrow for a yearly checkup, so i'm going to ask him about it. if anyone is interested in the pattern for the flowers, just let me know. if i get enough responses, i'll post it on here.

on another note, has anyone been watching celebrity fit club? who knew screetch was so mean? if he got the pulp beat out of him, i would not be suprised.

hi all,
welcome to my newly renovated blog. i hope you all like it, because it took me about an hour to do it. i've also been a knitting fool too. here is one of my pacifier tethers. the bigger flower is where the pacifier goes. there is a clip on the other end of the smaller flower. i made a flower there because i figure would you rather see a pretty little flower or a metal clip on your cut little daughter's shirt or dress.

i made 22 of these. i just have to make leaves for them and block them. so if i do the math: that's 3 leaves on each flower, 22 flowers = 1 million leaves. i have about 6 flowers that i need to knit leaves for, then i'm all done. thank goodness!!

thank you

i just wanted to say thank you to the blogger who left a comment for me. i really appreciate it when a person takes the time out from their busy schedule to try to make someone they don't even know feel better. i don't want to put your name on the net for all the world to see, but i just wanted to say thank you.

so, thank you :)

and remember, every good deed that you do, good things will always comes back to you.

hey, i'm back, and i've been busy

hello all,
sorry it's been a while since i posted last, but i've had a lot on my plate, but pretty much everything is ok now. i was also really busy with the sweaters for my cosignment job. here they are for your viewing pleasure.

they go in size order from biggest to smallest. i sent them off right before tax day. you would not believe the line i had to wait on. i was in there for an hour. but, it was my fault, i wanted to get them out of the house and on the way to washington.

this is what i'm working on next: pacifier tethers that are flowers. they are so cute. i wish i had a little girl to make them for. i made one for my neice and her mother loved it.
these are the first 2 that i made, and yes that is my hand, and that is a cardigan that i'm wearing. i really love red now and pink. i'm such a girly-girl. i will post some pics of the finished ones very soon.

the news today

hello all,
my 4 year old made me a little chick in school the other day. it's basically a styrofoam cup with yellow feathers a paper beak and googgly eyes. it is so cute, i don't know where to put it. for right now he's sitting at the table where my knitting machine is. i haven't named him yet, do you guys have any ideas? all are welcome.
it started 2 days ago, and now it's finally over. it started as rain thursday night. when i woke up in the morning, it was snowing, and there was a good amount on the ground. it stopped snowing then we were getting frozen snow. it was getting so bad, i picked up my 4 year old from school early. the roads were so terrible i was going 5 miles and hour. on the way there i saw multiple cars sliding all over the roads, and a truck hit a fire hydrant on the passenger side. for some reason there has not been a plow go down my street. this is what it looks like.....

that's my car that covered in ice and snow. obviously, i'm not going anywhere this weekend. i can get a whole lot of knitting done. i'm gonna listen to my books on tape that i put on my mp3 player.

change of plans. my back is killing me. i must have slept on it wrong or something. i took 2 advils but they just took the edge off. so i'm gonna take my last one of these...
this is a vicodin. it's the last one i had after i had a wisdom tooth pulled over the summer. that means no knitting for me. i'll be all drugged up and probably will be sleeping most of the day away. hopefully i'll get some knitting done today

still hard at work

hi all,
nothing new to report. i'm on my 2nd sweater for my new job, i'm still working on my pinup queen. one sleeve down, one more to go. i'll post pictures as soon as i get the chance. i go to a knitting circle about 3 times a week. instead of going there and learning new things, i always end up teaching others new things. i don't consider myself an expert, i have never tried to do fancy cables or lace. i'm sure i can do them if i actually made the effort. the people there are mostly beginners who need help decifering a pattern or a particular stitch. i'm glad to help, and it gets me out of the house and around adults i'm not related to or one of my kids. don't get me wrong, i love my kids, but as a stay at home mom, i need a break every once in a while. once i get some baby sweaters out of the way, i can work on some things for me. just like every knitter, everything i make, always goes to someone else. anywho, i'll post some pics of my work within the next few days.

more good news

hello all,
i made these knitted balls 2 years ago for my youngest son. he went through this phase where he wanted to throw everything at everyone and everything. that inspired these. i emailed this picture to the same company and they loved those too. my son still plays with these too. he plays basketball with these too. they teach hand-eye coordination, and if he misses his mark, no harm done. no broken windows or tvs.
if anyone wants the pattern, let me know.

consignment accepted!!!!!!!

i am so happy!!!!! the company loved my sweaters and now i really get to knit with a purpose, not that i don't now. i knit to keep myself sane as well as give myself and my youngest son things to wear that are original and unique. i'm going to by knitting baby sweaters from newborn to size 4T and ship them to Washington state. my items have never left the state, let along another time zone. i'm also going to make other things and send pictures to them too. i'm so excited to get started. i have to haul out my knitting maching and get knitting.

cosignment, maybe?

yesterday i was on http://www.crafster.org (as always) and i was looking through the classified section, and i came across an ad where a bady clothing company was looking for people who made baby clothes up to size 4T. i can do that. i've been knitting all kinds of things for my youngest son since he was a year old, he's 4 now. i've been knitting things for my now 6 month old neice before she was born.
wish me luck everyone!!!!

the body is finished, horray!!!!

i finished the top about 10 minutes ago. i love how it came out. i like how i don't have to knit extra length for the front since i'm a busty girl. now off to do the arms.

currently knitting today

today i made a lot of progress on one of my current projects, pinup queen from stitch and bitch. (the first book page 207)
i knit this before in my size, but it was too big even though i knit my size and my gauge was correct. so this time i'm going to make it again in a size small. i love this pattern even though it's knit 2 purl 2 hell for a while, but the front shaping more than makes up for it. i'm knitting it in red heart worsted weight in light blue.
here's the back:
and here is the front?

notice how the bust shaping works? i love how this contours to the body. the hardest thing about this sweater is the short row shaping, but if you know how to do that, it's no problem. i'm tall so i knit an extra 3" to the length. after the front, onto the sleeves. i'll start those tomorrow.
